One blend. A growing community.

Official True Beauty is now Our Tiny Blends. What began in 2020 with one homemade blend has grown through years of research, learning, community support and opportunities we once could only imagine.

Our name and look have changed, but our purpose remains the same: making family hair and skin care feel clearer, gentler and less overwhelming.

2020 — Where it began

Our journey began after Chayé made a dramatic big chop shortly before lockdown.

With shops closing and suitable products becoming difficult to find, we began exploring whether one carefully made blend could support the hair, face and skin.

Those early ideas became Shea Sweet, our first multi-use blend and the beginning of Official True Beauty.

2021–2023 — Finding our feet

These were the quieter years behind the business.

In 2021, we attended Nubian Noire in Leeds for our first stall. It was a small beginning, but it allowed us to meet customers, listen and begin building a community.

We spent time researching ingredients, testing and refining formulas and learning more about the different needs of children and families.

Some ideas worked quickly. Others needed to be changed, improved or reconsidered.

This period shaped what we stand for: understandable ingredient information, multi-use products and routines that feel less overwhelming.
2024 — Building stronger foundations

By 2024, the work behind the brand was creating new opportunities.

Chayé received Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 recognition through the Jamaica Society, while mentoring, business programmes and new connections helped strengthen the business.

Our vision also became clearer. We wanted to support different hair types, sensitive skin, neurodivergent families, additional needs and individual sensory preferences.

We were building more than a product collection. We were developing a more understanding approach to family care.

2025 — Growth and visibility

In 2025, more people began to see our work.

We joined the NatWest Accelerator programme in Manchester and appeared in two NatWest advertisements. One campaign featuring our story reached more than 1.5 million reported views.

We also contributed to a Royal Mail small-business discussion at Parliament, sharing our practical experience and supporting conversations about making Royal Mail and Shopify work more easily together.

Throughout the year, we met customers at a Leeds shopping centre, Melanin Markets and a product showcase inside the NatWest building in Manchester. We also showcased our products at the first NatWest Accelerator pitch competition.

BizWomen, Innovation Labs, founder roundtables and other business opportunities helped us learn, connect and reach new audiences.

October 2025 — Supporting others

October was a particularly meaningful month for the business and the community around it.

We joined a Buy Women Built event supporting Prevent Breast Cancer, provided skincare sponsorship for a boxer and supported TGCoaching Football Club with guidance around caring for hair and skin during sport.

Chayé also completed a second big chop and donated her hair to Little Lady Locks, a charity that provides hair systems for children experiencing hair loss.

These moments reminded us that care can reach far beyond the products we sell.

The year ended with further opportunities to share the business, learn from families and prepare the next chapter of the brand.

2026 — Reaching new audiences

In 2026, our story continued to travel.

An interview with Atlanta Expo introduced the business to an international audience and allowed us to share the potential of our family-care range beyond the UK.

In June, we appeared in two further NatWest advertisements, helping our story reach more families and future founders.

Watch Chayé’s story on NatWest’s official Start Gap Report page, where she speaks about building the business.

Every opportunity helped us grow—but it also encouraged us to consider whether our original name still represented the families at the heart of the business.

2026 — Becoming Our Tiny Blends

Official True Beauty became Our Tiny Blends.

“Tiny” represents babies, toddlers and children. It also reflects carefully considered ingredient lists and the small everyday moments that can make a meaningful difference.

“Blends” represents the multi-use hair and skin care that began our journey.

Our name is new, but our commitment remains:
clearer information, carefully considered ingredients, inclusive family care, respect for individual sensory preferences and products designed to make everyday routines feel easier.

Still growing

From one homemade blend and one small stall to national campaigns, community partnerships, recognition and international conversations, Our Tiny Blends has been built step by step.

We are still developing. We are still listening. We are still learning from families.

What began with one blend is becoming a growing community—and we are glad you are part of what comes next.
